Newark Residents’ Unforgettable Celtic FC Experiences

Newark is home to a vibrant community of Celtic FC supporters, including Emma Roberts, Anavo’s Scotland Regional Operation Manager, and many residents of Newark Care Home. Thanks to Emma’s efforts, some of our residents have had the unique opportunity to participate Celtic FC’s cherished “Lion’s Lunch” events and attend a match in person.

Emma liaised with Celtic Park to organise these special outings, allowing our residents to attend the Lion’s Lunch. This is a social event where fans gather to reminisce about Celtic FC, share stories, and enjoy food and drinks within the iconic football grounds.

Two groups of our Newark residents have already attended the memorable lunches. These events have provided a wonderful opportunity for our residents to connect with fellow supporters and relive cherished memories.

Resident Sammy shared his highlights stating, “It was good to go to Parkhead. The company was good, the experience was brilliant, and I loved going to the superstore to buy myself some gifts.”

In addition to the Lion’s Lunch, Emma also arranged for one of our residents to attend a Celtic FC match on January 5th. A highlight for the lucky attendee, Sammy, not only to witness his beloved team in action but also a 3-0 victory against St. Mirren. The atmosphere was electric. What an incredible moment to be on home turf and experience such a win!

Emma shared her excitement about the events, saying, “It has been incredibly rewarding to see the joy these events bring to our residents. The Lion’s Lunch and the match are wonderful opportunities for them to connect with their passion for Celtic FC and create lasting memories.”
