Len’s 70th Birthday Surprise at Wessex Lodge Care Home

On Friday, 14th February, the Wessex Lodge Care Home team pulled out all the stops to celebrate Len’s 70th birthday in style! The atmosphere was filled with excitement a as everyone gathered to make this day truly special for Len.

Seven of Len’s family members, including some who made the journey all the way from Scotland, joined us for a special birthday lunch. The dining room was decked out ready receive Len and his guests for the celebration.

Our fantastic activities coordinator, Gemma, orchestrated a heart-warming surprise for Len, an avid Southampton supporter. The highlight of the day was when Len was presented with a personalised Southampton football shirt, signed by all the Southampton football team. To add to the excitement, Len received a touching video message from none other than Rickie Lambert himself, wishing him a happy birthday and sharing their best wishes. Len’s reaction was priceless, as he beamed with joy and gratitude.

The celebrations continued as Len was serenaded in his room with his favourite song, “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra. The soothing melody and heartfelt lyrics brought a smile to Len’s face, creating a moment of pure happiness and nostalgia.

The day concluded with a scrumptious birthday cake crafted by our talented chef, Rob. The cake was a masterpiece! Delighted, Len blew out the candles, making a wish for many more wonderful years to come.

Len and his family were overjoyed and deeply touched by the efforts made to make his milestone birthday so memorable. The love and care shown by the Wessex Lodge team truly made this day unforgettable for Len and his loved ones.
