Bullseye at Alexandra Mill’s archery afternoon

At our Alexandra Mill Care Home, we believe in making dreams come true, no matter the age. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome Mick Dunlop from Orbis Outdoor Adventures to help our resident, Christine Williams, relive her archery glory days.

Christine, who once shot archery for the County of Cheshire, had one simple wish: to shoot some target practice again. And we made it happen. Kate Rigby, our passionate Activities Coordinator, teamed up with Orbis Outdoor Adventures to arrange an unforgettable afternoon of archery in our beautiful gardens.

The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and a lot of impressive archery skills. Christine was over the moon to pick up the bow and arrow once more, showcasing the strength and talent that made her a standout archer in her youth.

As Christine chatted with Mick, she shared how the experience brought back wonderful memories. Mick couldn’t help but notice her natural ability and passion for the sport.

We’re not stopping here. We’re already planning another Alexandra Mill archery afternoon with Mick, because at Alexandra Mill, we believe in doing things differently, giving a sense of purpose, igniting passions, and bringing a spark.
