Anavo’s Alexandra Mill awarded Six Steps Accreditation

In September 2023, Alexandra Mill signed up to the Six Steps to Success Programme. Developed in the Northwest by the Cheshire and Merseyside Palliative and End of Life Care Network and the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria Strategic Clinical Network, the programme aims to enhance end of life care through facilitating organisational change as well as training and supporting staff to develop their roles.   

Based on the Six Steps described in the Route to Success guides to improving end of life care, the concept works to ensure all residents at end of life receive high quality care provided by organisations that encompass the philosophy of palliative care. Deputy Manager, Stephanie Sheer, took on the role of End-of-life Care Champion at Alexandra Mill. Going above and beyond her day-to-day, she developed her knowledge, skillset and confidence within this area. With her expertise, she’s empowered and supported numerous team members within the home in delivering quality end of life care. 

Due to Stephanie and the team’s dedication to the residents and providing the best end of life care, on Tuesday 2nd April 2024, Alexandra Mill was awarded the six steps accreditation.
